This is the second test of AGFA Vista 100 12 exposure rolls, expiration June 2006. The first was a bracketing test to make sure something would come out when developing the film, and to find out the best exposure index to use, which seems either 50 or 25.

Needing some pool time, I decided to just drive to the sea, the usual place in Porto Levante, and stay for a couple of days, going as far as taking the friday afternoon off (bad choice, the pool water was hotter than the already humid air). It was the right occasion to bring along a couple of rolls with me to test the film in a real life scenario. Thanks to the massive heatwave, I wasn't in the mood for a walk, so I just snapped a few shots from the balcony, a few poolside ones, and the rest while driving home Saturday afternoon, stopping by a couple of times along the road.

The base comes out quite reddish, so that translates to a strong green undertone in the inverted negatives. I've tried to get rid of it, maybe overcorrected in some cases, these pictures need better inversion/editing, a thing I'll probably never do apart from adjusting a few sliders in Irfanview when I'll need a clean version to post elsewhere.

Also I can confirm that by loading them in the dark and using cameras with manual transport, I can reliably squeeze 15 frames out of these roll, which sort of satisfies my inner irrational desire to make economic sense of a hobby that consists of loading plastic strips smeared with animal gelatine and silver inside a camera older than me, then soaking said strips in hazardous chemicals, all to get a digital scan of a grainy image using the very same DSLR that could have taken a cheaper and better looking picture in the first place.
